Simply Spiritual
Sarah-Jane Dias | Actor
The moment when my breath is perfectly aligned and I'm no where else, but in the present moment, that is spirituality to me.
I'm blessed to have found a number of things in this lifetime, that allow me to be present. I'm perhaps the most luckiest to have found it in my career. When I am in front of a camera, when I am on a stage, when I am singing or talking into a mic, I am no where else but there, present, fully, alive. It drives me like nothing else. The ability to uplift people's spirits, to move them, that to me is fulfilling my purpose. That to me in connecting me to my inner-most being who is, I believe, inherently, spiritual. I also find a deep connection to all that is spiritual when I am in mediation and when I pray. And I love all rituals too. Rituals, allow me to be present and thus spiritual. The ritual of cleaning my altar and lighting incense or my morning ritual of making coffee in my favourite moka pot. The truth is I find, that if you are
truly connected to that which you love, then you are truly connected to spirituality. The same way I love working out too. When I'm squatting 45kgs or trying to learn a handstand, the control that I need to exercise with my breath allows for the mind to be no where else but in the present moment and thus, again, it becomes a deeply spiritual experience for me.
There need not be a mysterious, surrealism attached to the word 'spirituality'. I feel that moreand more people are realising that these days. The collective consciousness is rising and thus making way for a collective spiritual awakening that isn't elusive.
